Lady Cougars Chase Sixth Straight Win

COLUMBUS – With five straight wins under its belt, the sixth-ranked Columbus State University women's soccer team returns to the friendly confines of the Walden Soccer Complex on Saturday to take on Francis Marion. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
 
Last Time Out
 
Olivia Jarrell found the back of the net in the 54th minute to break a scoreless tie and the Lady Cougars made the lead stand up in a 1-0 victory at Young Harris. CSU outshot the Mountain Lions 18-6.
 
Entlich on the Matchup
 
"It's great to have Francis Marion back on the schedule. We haven't played them since our first season. It will also be great to see a former Lady Cougar on the opposite sideline."
 
Series History
 
Columbus State (10-2-0, 6-1-0 PBC) and Francis Marion have met just one time, with the Patriots taking a 4-1 decision in 2004 in Florence, S.C.
 
Last Meeting
 
Francis Marion scored a pair of goals in each half on its way to a 4-1 victory on October 4, 2004. Amy Summerlin scored the lone goal for the Lady Cougars.

Francis Marion (0-11-0, 0-6-0) is in its first season back in NCAA Division II after spending the last 11 seasons at the Division I level.
 
Former Lady Cougar Lindsey Morgan is in her second year as the FMU head coach. Morgan played for the Lady Cougars from 2005-08 and is tied for fifth in program history in career assists (20).
 
The Patriots are coming off an 8-0 loss to USC Aiken on Thursday, the eighth time they have been shut out in 11 matches.
 
CSU Notes
 
With last Saturday's win over Georgia Southwestern, Columbus State ran its home unbeaten streak to 30 matches.
 
The Lady Cougars are a perfect 4-0-0 in the month of October this season, extending their October winning streak to 25.
 
Columbus State has scored 23 goals in its last four matches, while keeping the opponent off the board in all four.
