COLUMBUS – The first of three straight games on the road, the 19
th-ranked Columbus State University women's basketball team will hit the hardwood at Young Harris on Wednesday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Young Harris, Ga.
Last Time Out
With its lead cut to five in the final minute of the third quarter, the Lady Cougars scored 16 unanswered points to pull away for a 79-60 victory over Armstrong State on Monday night.
Alexis Carter finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds, while
Ashley Asouzu and
Keyrra Gillespie missed double-doubles by one rebound and one assist, respectively.

Series History
Columbus State and Young Harris have met twice each of the four seasons YHC has been a Peach Belt Conference member. The Lady Cougars hold a 5-3 series edge after splitting last season's contests.
Last Meeting
The Lady Cougars used strong second and third quarters to fend of the Mountain Lions 68-49 last February in Columbus.
Ashley Asouzu and
Britteny Tatum were each in double figures, while
Erin Morrow set a career high with 13 points.
About Young Harris
Young Harris (6-5, 2-2 PBC) shook off a two-game losing streak on Saturday with a 78-71 victory over Flagler.
YHC was scheduled to play on Monday against Lander, but the game was postponed due to weather conditions.
The Mountain Lions rank in the middle of the pack in the PBC in scoring at 67.5 points per game and are allowing 65.0 per night.
Young Harris has spread its scoring around this season with four players scoring in double figures. Senior guard Meredith Tarver leads the way at 16.4 per night, while Jenny Vernet averages a double-double of 10.9 points and 10.5 rebounds.
CSU Notes
Columbus State (10-1, 4-1) sits in a three-way tie atop the PBC's West Division with Georgia Southwestern and North Georgia.
CSU posted its second-best shooting night of the season in Monday's win over Armstrong State at 47.7 percent from the field on a season-low 65 attempts.
Alexis Carter's double-double on Monday was her seventh of the season. The junior leads the conference at 10.9 rebounds per game.
Keyrra Gillespie tallied nine assists in the win over Armstrong to up her average to 6.6 per game, the fifth-most in the country.
