COLUMBUS – The Columbus State University women's basketball team returns to action on Sunday afternoon with a road tilt at No. 19 Carson-Newman. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Jefferson City, Tenn.

Columbus State (2-1) suffered its first loss of the season falling 71-68 to Albany State in the finale of the PBC/SIAC Challenge.
Tatiana Wayne led CSU with 16 points, while
Machala Raymonville and
Jasmine Herndon added 15 and 11, respectively.

Series History
Sunday's game will mark the 12
th all-time meeting between the two programs with Columbus State holding a 7-4 edge in the series. The Lady Cougars are 1-3 in Jefferson City.
Last Meeting
Columbus State scored on its first possession of the game and never trailed on its way to an 85-75 victory last November. Alexis Carter and Ashley Asouzu both finished with double-doubles.

C-N jumped into the WBCA Top 25 this week behind a 6-0 start to the 2017-18 season.
Four of the Eagles six wins have come against Peach Belt Conference opponents defeating USC Aiken, Lander, North Georgia and Georgia College.
Carson-Newman is currently the second-highest scoring offense in the country at 96.8 points per game and 66 3-pointers made.
Four different Eagles are averaging double figures in scoring this season, led by junior Mika Wester at 18.0 points per night.
CSU Notes
CSU has not lost consecutive games since January of 2016 after losing only twice all of last season.
Columbus State has been one of the top teams in the country on the glass, ranking fourth in offensive rebounds per game (20.0) and 10
th in rebound margin (plus-13.7).
The Lady Cougars have also been imposing on the defensive end as well, ranking third with 6.7 blocks per game.
After averaging just under four points per game through her first two seasons,
Tatiana Wayne has exploded to start her junior year at 16.3 points per contest.
