Columbus State (3-7, 3-4 PBC) fell 83-72 on the road Wednesday night at Georgia Southwestern. Rudy Winters scored 21 points off the bench to lead all scorers.

Moore on the Matchup

"We got a really good win at UNC Pembroke last month, so we know they are coming here looking for some revenge. They are big and really talented. We have to show up on the defensive end and fight the full 40 minutes if we want a win."

Series History

Columbus State has dominated the all-time series with UNC Pembroke, owning a 31-8 record against the Braves. CSU has defeated UNCP each of the last two seasons in the Lumpkin Center.

Last Meeting

The Cougars went on the road and defeated then No. 21 UNC Pembroke 70-67 in December. JaCori Payne scored 24 points to lead the Cougars, while Marcus Dixon finished with 15 points and 18 rebounds.

About UNC Pembroke

UNC Pembroke (10-3, 6-1) has gotten hot since falling to the Cougars, winning five straight games.

The Braves' last four games have all been decided by single digits, including a double-overtime win against Georgia College.

UNCP presents problems around the rim as the Braves are second in the country in blocks per game and third in rebounds.

Five different Braves are scoring in double figures this season, led by Nigel Grant's 15.4 per game.

CSU Notes

The Cougars were strong defensively in the December win over UNCP, holding the Braves to 31 percent shooting and 4-of-27 from 3.

The 31 percent shooting was a season-best for the Cougars and the worst of the year for the Braves.

Rudy Winters has come off the bench in the last two contests and led the Cougars in scoring in each.

Winters' 21 points on Wednesday was a new high for the redshirt-junior in a Cougar uniform.
