YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – For the second consecutive game, the Columbus State University women's basketball team dropped an overtime decision, falling 93-92 at Young Harris on Saturday.

Columbus State (8-6, 6-4 PBC) held an 89-82 lead with 45 seconds remaining in overtime. A pair of 3-pointers quickly made it a 92-90 game with 20 seconds on the clock and the Lady Cougars missed a pair of free throws to give YHC a chance down a pair.

Young Harris (7-11, 4-7) then knocked down its 14th 3-pointer of the afternoon with seven seconds to go to give the Mountain Lions the lead and Tatiana Wayne's runner at the buzzer bounced around the rim and fell off.

"This was a disappointing loss," head coach Anita Howard said. "We gave up too many open looks and Young Harris made us pay when we left them open."

After a tight first quarter, Columbus State stretched its lead out with a dominant second. The Lady Cougars limited the Mountain Lions to just 1-of-13 shooting during the second period, while putting together an 8-for-13 effort of their own. CSU outscored YHC 20-9 during the quarter and carried a 38-26 advantage into halftime.

Machala Raymonville drained a 3-pointer to open the third to give CSU its largest lead of the day at 15, but Young Harris battled back to get within six behind a 13-4 run.

CSU answered right back to stretch the margin to 13, but YHC pushed back again and trailed by just seven heading to the fourth.

The Mountain Lions surged into the lead late in the fourth and led 77-74 in the final minute of regulation. Tatum Jarvis knotted the game up with a shot from outside and neither team could find the winning basket before the clock ran out sending the game to overtime.

Raymonville tallied a game-high 26 points, including a 15-for-18 day at the free throw line. The senior also added nine rebounds. Tatiana Wayne and Jasmine Herndon each added 16 points, which was a career-high for Herndon.

The Lady Cougars shot 38.2 percent (29-for-76) as a team, but finished just 2-for-13 from the 3-point line.

Columbus State will return home for two straight games, starting with a showdown against Georgia College on Monday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Lumpkin Center.
