Lady Cougars Look to Snap Two-Game Skid

COLUMBUS – After consecutive overtime losses, the Columbus State University women's basketball team will take on Georgia College on Monday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the Lumpkin Center.

Columbus State (8-6, 6-4 PBC) let a late lead get away from them in a 93-92 overtime loss at Young Harris on Saturday. Machala Raymonville scored a season-high 26 points in the loss.

"Obviously, we're looking to get a win. We feel like we've let the last couple games slip away from us. We need to be better at the end of games and get back to playing Lady Cougar basketball."
 
Series History
 
Monday night will be the 61st all-time meeting between the two programs, with the Lady Cougars holding a narrow 33-27 edge against the Bobcats. CSU has won six straight against GC and 10 of the last 11 matchups.
 
Last Meeting
 
CSU held a 19-point advantage at halftime and rolled to a 70-58 win at Georgia College last February. The Lady Cougars held the Bobcats below 33 percent shooting and forced 17 GC turnovers.
 
About Georgia College
 
Georgia College (10-6, 7-3) had a five-game winning streak snapped on Saturday on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at North Georgia.
 
Prior to the loss, GC had won nine of 10 games after opening the season 1-4.
 
The Bobcats rank just eighth in the PBC in scoring at 65.0 points per game, but have been efficient at third in field goal percentage and fourth in 3-point percentage.
 
Senior Alyah McGriff leads the Bobcats in scoring (13.9 points) and rebounding (8.0 rebounds).
 
CSU Notes
 
The Lady Cougars are trying to avoid their first three-game losing streak since December of 2012.
 
CSU has done excellent work at the free throw line this season, but especially over its last three games.
 
Columbus State has shot at least 34 free throws in each game and has shot 75.7 percent (87-for-115).
 
Machala Raymonville is 33-for-42 in the last three games, accounting for 33 of her 53 points.
