COLUMBUS – The third-ranked Columbus State University women's soccer team is at home again on Thursday for a showdown with UNC Pembroke. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Walden Soccer Complex.
Thursday's match was originally scheduled for Sept. 15, but was postponed due to a closure of the UNC Pembroke campus during Hurricane Florence.
Columbus State (7-0-1, 4-0-0 PBC) enters the match coming off four consecutive victories, most recently against Clayton State on Saturday. The Lady Cougars are unbeaten through their first eight matches for the fourth time in the last 10 years.
Olivia Jarrell scored her sixth goal of the season in Saturday's win over Clayton State to give her 60 for her career. The senior is just four goals away from moving into third place on the Peach Belt Conference career leaderboard.
Columbus State and UNC Pembroke is a rematch of the 2017 PBC Tournament Championship, which the Braves captured 1-0. UNCP has won two of the last three meetings by a 1-0 margin in a series the Lady Cougars lead 17-4-1.
UNC Pembroke (3-2-0, 0-1-0) has played just five matches on the season due to weather cancellations and postponements. The Braves played their first full match in three weeks last Saturday, falling 1-0 at Flagler. UNCP bounced back with a 5-0 win over Converse on Tuesday.
Stacey Scott leads the Braves with three goals on the season.
