Game One
Â
CSU jumped in front in the opening inning on Sunday, plating a pair of runs.
Elizabeth Perdue continued her early season hot hitting with a RBI double and a second run came home courtesy of a Lynn defensive mistake.
Â
The game remained at 2-0 until the fourth when the Lady Cougars blew the contest open. Two walks and an error loaded the bases with nobody out and
Keeli Waugh,
Kia Smith and
McKenzie Fagioli proceeded to each bring home a run to make it 5-0.
Â
Calli Star later capped the five-run inning with a two-run single the opposite way.
Â
Lynn got a run on the board in the fifth inning, but a two-run double off the bat of
JoJo Beyer put the Lady Cougars in position to end the game after just six innings.
Â
Darby Demarest (2-0) tossed the first five innings for the Lady Cougars, allowing an unearned run on just two hits.
Helen Snavely recorded a scoreless sixth to complete the victory.
Â
Fagioli, Star and
Elizabeth Perdue all went 2-for-4 in the win, combining for five runs and five RBIs.
Â
Game Two
Â
Lynn (5-3) was in control of the second game from the outset, putting three runs up in the bottom of the first inning and adding another in the third.
Â
CSU's only offensive threat of the day came in the fourth with runners on the corners and one out, but the Lady Cougars could not break through.
Â
Lynn would then add four runs in the bottom of the fifth to reach the eight-run mercy rule.
Â
Fagioli and
Lee Anne Rees each had a double to account for two of the three Lady Cougar hits.
