AIKEN, S.C. – The Columbus State University men's basketball team fell 83-62 at USC Aiken on Wednesday night. The Peach Belt Conference contest was played in Aiken, S.C.

Rudy Winters scored 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting to lead the Cougars.

"We're going to continue to fight," head coach
Robert Moore said. "This hasn't gone how we wanted but we will go back to work and get ready for Georgia College on Wednesday."

Columbus State (6-15, 6-12 PBC) hung tight early on matching the Pacers at 11 six minutes into the game.

USC Aiken (13-9, 10-8) scored the next eight points however, and led the rest of the way.

The Pacers stretched the margin out to 13 with two minutes until halftime, but the Cougars battled back. CSU closed the first half on a 7-1 run to trail 36-29 at the break.

Columbus State got within five on two occasions early in the second half before USCA pulled away. The Cougars were no closer than 10 over the final 17 minutes.

CSU shot 39.7 percent (23-for-58) on the night and was 7-for-20 from the 3-point line.

Columbus State will finish off its three-game road trip at Georgia College on Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Milledgeville.
