COLUMBUS – After taking the first two games of the series, the Columbus State University baseball team lost 14-6 against Lynn on Sunday. The game was played at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field.

Columbus State (6-2) hit four home runs on the day, but fell behind a 17-hit attack from Lynn.

"We obviously aren't pleased with the outcome today, but we're still happy with our performance in the series," head coach
Greg Appleton said.

For the third straight game, it was Lynn (6-4) that got on the board first, plating three runs in the second inning.

Robert Brooks continued his hot hitting in the bottom half of the inning with a solo homer to left field. Lynn kept rolling though putting 11 more runs up over the next four innings.

CSU added its second run of the day on the fourth long ball of the season for
Frank Wager in the fourth inning. Brooks then added a second home run in the sixth, this time a three-run shot.
Turner Vincent capped the scoring with his first home run of the season in the seventh.

Brooks was the offensive star for the Cougars in the loss, going 3-for-4 with the two home runs and four driven in. Vincent and
Garrett Kirkwood each had two hits.

T.J. Clark (1-2) took the loss after giving up six runs in 2.2 innings.

The Cougars are at home again on Wednesday for the first of two matchups this season with West Georgia. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
