YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Columbus State University men's tennis team made it two Peach Belt Conference wins in a row with an 8-1 triumph at Young Harris on Saturday.

Columbus State pushed its record to 6-0 after a perfect 2-0 start to the conference season.

The Cougars got rolling on Saturday behind a 3-0 start in doubles.

The second-ranked pairing of
KP Pannu and
Alvaro Regalado got back on track with a 9-7 win in the first doubles position.
Zach Whaanga and
Matei Avram picked up an 8-6 win at No. 2 and
Shao-Yu Yu and
Arnold Kokulewski rolled 8-4 at the third spot.

Columbus State then picked up wins in five of the six singles matches to secure the victory.

Whaanga played his first match of the season at the top singles spot, winning 3-6, 6-2, 11-9. Regalado rolled 6-0, 6-3 in the second position and
Paul Sprengelmeijer did the same 6-3, 6-1 at third singles.

Jorge Vargas won 7-6, 6-0 at No. 5 and Kokulewski cruised 6-2, 6-1 in the final spot.

The only Young Harris victory on the day came at fourth singles, where Avram fell 7-6, 4-6, 10-7.

Columbus State will return to the court next Friday on the road at Valdosta State.
