COLUMBUS – The Columbus State University men's basketball team heads on the road to open up postseason play with a date at top-seeded Clayton State on Wednesday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Morrow, Ga.

Columbus State holds a 30-16 edge over the Lakers in the all-time series. The Cougars have won the only two PBC Tournament meetings, but the two have not played in the postseason since 2003.

Clayton State has a pair of victories over the Cougars this season, defeating CSU 95-76 last month in Morrow and then the win on Saturday in the Lumpkin Center.

Clayton State (21-5, 19-3) captured a share of the PBC regular season title, finishing even with UNC Pembroke but holding the tiebreaker over the Braves for the top seed.
The Lakers have one PBC Tournament title to their name, winning as the seventh seed in 2008.
Clayton State was the top seed out of the West Division last year, but was upset in overtime by Lander.
The Lakers last victory in the conference tournament came in the quarterfinal round in 2010.

Columbus State has been the most successful PBC Tournament team in league history, winning six titles and reaching 12 championship games.
Robert Moore has taken the Cougars to the PBC title game three times, including last season.
The Cougars are 18-5 in the quarterfinal round of the PBC Tournament since in began in 1992.
CSU has won a quarterfinal contest in each of the last four years.
