COLUMBUS – The third-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team rolled to a quick 9-0 victory over Augusta on Wednesday. The Peach Belt Conference match was played at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
 
The Lady Cougars upped their record to 10-1 on the year and 4-0 in conference play. CSU has won all four of its PBC matches by a 9-0 score.
 
Columbus State dropped just four games on its way to a 3-0 start in doubles play. Beatriz Lopez and Noa Davico were 8-2 winners at the top spot, as were Natalia Kattah Paz and Candice Paya at number two.
 
Giorgia Vitale and Marleen Tilgner made easy work at third doubles, picking up an 8-0 win.
 
It was much of the same in singles play for the Lady Cougars. Lopez and Vitale didn't drop a game in 6-0, 6-0 victories at first and third singles, respectively. Paya was nearly perfect as well in a 6-0, 6-1 win at the fourth position.
 
Davico won 6-2, 6-2 at the second spot, while Tilgner grabbed a 6-1, 6-1 win at fifth and Luise Sachs capped the day with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
 
Columbus State hits the road next Wednesday for a date with top-ranked Lynn in Boca Raton, Fla.
