COLUMBUS – Following a 15-point win in the quarterfinals, the Columbus State University women's basketball team will take on Lander in Saturday in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at North Georgia in Dahlonega.

nd all-time meeting between the two programs, with CSU holding a 36-15 mark against the Bearcats. The two teams are meeting third straight year and eighth time overall in the PBC Tournament. The Lady Cougars are 5-2 against Lander in the seven previous matchups.

Columbus State blew past Lander for a 77-64 victory in December inside the Lumpkin Center. The Bearcats returned the favor last month in Greenwood, S.C. with an 87-76 win.

Second-seeded Lander (23-6) moved into the semifinal round with a 68-60 win over Clayton State on Wednesday.

Lander is aiming for its fifth conference tournament championship, having won previously in 1999, 2008, 2009 and 2016.

The Bearcats have made the championship game of the PBC Tournament each of the last two years against the Lady Cougars.

Lander is 7-4 all-time in the semifinal round of the tournament.

The Lady Cougars are trying to get back to the PBC Championship for a conference-record fifth straight season.

Columbus State is making its 19
th semifinal appearance and is 12-6 in the previous 18 games.

Tatiana Wayne became the sixth Lady Cougar to be named PBC Player of the Year on Thursday, joining Kinesha Harden (2000-01), Phebe Smith (2008-09, 2009-10) and Michelle Mitchell (2014-15, 2015-16).

Machala Raymonville was also named All-PBC and is just 18 points away from 500 points for the season. Raymonville and Wayne would be the first teammates in Lady Cougar history to score 500 in the same season.
