COLUMBUS – The third-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team had no trouble on Saturday, picking up a 9-0 victory over Francis Marion. The Peach Belt Conference match was played at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
 
Columbus State (15-1, 7-0 PBC) stayed perfect in conference play and turned in its eighth consecutive victory.
 
The Lady Cougars started the day with three doubles victories, all by 8-3 scores.
 
Natalia Kattah Paz and Candice Paya won at the top spot, with Beatriz Lopez and Noa Davico taking the second match. Giorgia Vitale and Marleen Tilgner recorded the win at third.
 
Lopez won her fourth ranked matchup of the season with a 6-2, 7-5 victory at first singles. Vitale was a 7-6, 6-3 winner at second, and Paya didn't lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at third.
 
Tilgner dropped just one game on her way to a 6-0, 6-1 triumph in the fourth position. Luise Sachs was victorious 6-3, 6-1 at fifth, and Kattah Pazswept her way to a 6-0, 6-0 win in the final spot.
 
Columbus State will be on the road on Thursday to take on Shorter. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Rome, Ga.
