COLUMBUS – The third-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team notched a ranked win on Monday, downing No. 20 Wingate 9-0. The nonconference match was played at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
 
Columbus State pushed its record to 9-1 on the season and 4-0 on its home courts.
 
Beatriz Lopez and Noa Davico moved to 7-2 on the season with a 9-8 victory at the top doubles position. Giorgia Vitale and Marleen Tilgner had an easy time at second doubles, winning 8-1. Luise Sachs and Natalia Kattah Paz made it a clean sweep with an 8-4 win at third doubles.
 
The Lady Cougars ran the table in singles play as well, winning five of the six matches in straight sets.
 
Lopez won 6-1, 6-2 at first singles, with Davico going 7-6, 6-2 in the second spot. Vitale was a 6-3, 6-1 winner at third and Candice Paya tallied a 6-0, 6-2 win at fourth.
 
Tilgner was victorious 6-3, 7-6 at fifth singles and Sachs rallied for a 5-7, 6-3, 10-7 win at sixth.
 
Columbus State has nine days between matches and will play next against Augusta on March 14 at the Walden Tennis Center.
