DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The third-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team rolled to an 8-1 victory at No. 29 North Georgia on Sunday. The Peach Belt Conference match was played in Dahlonega.

Columbus State (17-1, 8-0 PBC) has won 10 consecutive matches and clinched at least a share of the PBC regular season crown with the win. The Lady Cougars can with the league outright with a win over Georgia College on Thursday.

CSU took two out of three doubles matches to open the day.

Beatriz Lopez and
Noa Davico won 8-5 at second doubles, with
Giorgia Vitale and
Marleen Tilgner winning 8-4 at third.

North Georgia (12-5, 6-2) won 9-7 over
Natalia Kattah Paz and
Candice Paya at first doubles for its only point of the day.

The Lady Cougars then took all six singles matches in straight sets.

Lopez downed her opponent 6-2, 7-5 at first singles, and Davico tallied a 7-6, 7-6 victory at second. Vitale cruised to a ranked win 6-1, 6-0 at the third position with Paya winning 7-6, 7-5 at fourth.

Tilgner added a 6-2, 6-1 win at fifth singles and
Luise Sachs finished off the singles sweep with a 6-2, 7-5 triumph.

Columbus State will host Auburn Montgomery on Wednesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
