COLUMBUS – The fourth-ranked Columbus State University women's soccer team will return to the pitch on Wednesday for a road contest at Flagler. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in St. Augustine, Fla.

The Lady Cougars last played on Sept. 9, drawing Rollins 1-1, with Wednesday marking 10 days between matches. Columbus State had matches last week against Belmont Abbey and UNC Pembroke canceled and postponed, respectively.

Wednesday will mark the official start to the Peach Belt Conference schedule for the Lady Cougars. CSU is 55-4-1 (.925) against PBC opponents over the last four seasons.

Columbus State and Flagler have met 11 times in program history dating back to 2009. The Lady Cougars have won all 11 matchups, including three victories last season.

CSU handed Flagler its only three losses of the 2017 season, defeating the Saints 5-1 in the regular season, 3-1 in the PBC Tournament semifinals and 3-0 in the NCAA Tournament second round.

Flagler is 3-1-0 to start the 2018 season and coming off a 2-0 win at Young Harris in its conference opener on Saturday. The lone loss for the Saints came at Embry-Riddle, who the Lady Cougars defeated 3-0 in their first match of the season.

The Saints return six starters and 14 players overall off last year's team, including preseason All-PBC selection Charlene Nowotny. The junior has two goals in four matches this season, while sophomore transfer Sara Sandberg leads the conference with five.
