COLUMBUS - In its first action in a week, the Columbus State University men's basketball team will host Tuskegee on Saturday, Nov. 23 inside the Lumpkin Center. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
CSU lost its previous game on Nov. 16 falling 66-64 to Xavier - Louisiana in Columbus. The Cougars tied the game twice late but were unable to complete the come from behind victory. Before hosting Xavier, the Cougars took down Albany State 67-55 on Nov. 15 in Albany, Ga.
"The guys are ready to get back on the court and get that sour taste out of our mouths," commented head coach
Robert Moore. "Last Saturday was tough coming off a hard-fought game against Albany State the night before, but we needed to win that one. I know we will be ready to bounce back though."
Against the Golden Rush,
Anthony Moore led the Cougars in scoring with 16 points after a 7-for-9 shooting performance. However, as a team, the Cougars were 7-for-27 on 3-point attempts.

The Golden Tigers will enter Saturday's contest with a 1-2 record after falling 77-73 at Montevallo on Tuesday. Tuskegee continued to struggle shooting from distance connecting on 6-of-31 3-point attempts in the game. On the season, TU is shooting 27.3 percent from beyond the arc.
James Eads (15.3 PPG) and Myles Thomas (15.3) each are scoring threats. Deshawn Millington (5.3 rebs/game) leads the team in rebounding, but Tuskegee struggles on the glass as a team with a -7.6 rebounding margin.
Cougar Notes
• Landrius Horton (17.3 PPG) and Bryant Givens (16.8 PPG) rank seventh and eighth respectively in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring.
• The Cougars have been one of the best shooting teams in the PBC so far this season. As a team, CSU is shooting 50 percent from the floor, the second best mark in the conference.
• Anthony Moore is shooting 67.6 percent (23-for-34) this season to rank second in the PBC and 23rd in the nation.
• Bryant Givens has gotten off to a quick start. The senior ranks in the top-10 in the PBC in minutes per game (35.0), free throw percentage (81.8 percent), assists (24), assists to turnover ratio (2.4), steals (15), and scoring (16.8). The guard is sixth in the nation in steals per game averaging 3.75.
• The Cougars have swiped 10 or more steals in each of their first four games.
• Cam Paulding recorded the first double-double of his Cougar career against Albany State with a 12-point and 14-rebound performance. Both were career highs.
• Saturday will renew the Columbus State-Tuskegee series as the two teams haven't met since December of 2004. In that game, CSU Hall of Famer Yandel Brown dropped 43 points.
• Overall, the Cougars have won nine straight against Tuskegee dating back to the 1994-95 season.
• CSU is 12-1 all-time against the Golden Tigers in Columbus.
