MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The sixth-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team bounced back after a loss last time out to defeat Auburn Montgomery 6-1 Wednesday. The match took place in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Lady Cougars grabbed wins in the second and third doubles spots with 10
th-ranked
Luise Sachs and
Noa Davico winning 6-1 while
Candice Paya and
Natalia Kattah Paz secured a 6-3 win. The two wins gave CSU the point they needed in doubles to jump out in front. Second-ranked
Beatriz Lopez and
Marleen Tilgner fell at the top spot for the second straight time, losing 2-6 to Julia Enderink and Sofia Navarro.

nd-ranked Lopez would rebound in a big way in singles dominating her opponent in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 at the top spot. 46
th-ranked Paya got the nod in second singles also winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.
Columbus State would take care of business in the fourth, fifth and sixth spots coming away with three more straight set wins. It was Paz in the third spot grabbing a 6-4, 6-3 win while 18
th-ranked Davico took down Enderink 6-1, 7-5. In the sixth spot it was
Clara Audap who picked up another straight set win 6-2, 6-2.
The lone loss in singles for the Lady Cougars was in third singles as 10
th-ranked Sachs fell victim in the tiebreaker, 7-5, 3-6, 6-10.
Columbus State will have ten days off before they head to Americus on Saturday, March 16 to take on Georgia Southwestern. The match will begin at 11:00 a.m.
