Pembroke, N.C. - The Columbus State University men's basketball team lost their 2020-21 season opener game against UNC Pembroke 91-72.
Freshman Christian Chambers led the Cougars with 19 points, scoring five 3-pointers and shooting an overall 6-11 from the field and 100% (2-2) from the free throw line.
Redshirt senior Anthony Moore scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while senior Hunter Preston recorded 11 points and five rebounds.
Columbus State will return home to the Frank G. Lumpkin Center on Wednesday, Jan. 13 against Clayton State University at 7:30 p.m.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no fan attendance at Wednesday's game. Fans can listen to the game on 88.5 FM WCUG radio or watch it broadcasted on the Cougar Sports TV.
