FAIRBURN, Ga. - After a few weeks off, the Columbus State University cross country programs were back in action Saturday in the Alexander/Asics Invitational.
In a large field, which included several Division I programs, the Cougars finished in 11th place, while the Lady Cougars grabbed 13th.Â
Elijah Sires led the way for the CSU men, running the 8k course in 27:15.94 to finish in 72nd. Ethan Shephard wasn't too far behind him in 79th (27:21.78).
Macey Voorhies was the best performer out of all of the Columbus State runners. Voorhies finished 25th in the women's 5k in 19:09.98 to set a new season-best time.
Columbus State will be right back in action next week in the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College on Saturday, Oct. 9.Â
