• The Cougar bats were on fire Wednesday as CSU scored 32 runs and tallied 30 hits in a midweek doubleheader against Miles College in Pleasant Grove, Ala.
• Third-year sophomore Hannah Rose Corbin had her best performance of the year in game one against the Lions as she went 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBIs, including hitting a grand slam. In game two, Corbin added her third homer of the day and fifth of the season to climb to the top of the Peach Belt Conference leaderboard in homers with five.
• Katelyn Cooper had a perfect outing at the plate in game two. The leading hitter on the team, Cooper went 4-for-4 with four RBIs, including a double and a triple, to up her average to .471 on the year. The second-year freshman is second in the PBC with a .591 on-base percentage.
• Riley Patton had her best game in the circle for the Cougars against Miles. The transfer tossed six shutout innings while limiting MC to just two hits. Patton improved to 3-1 and lowered her ERA to 3.37 thanks in part to her season-high 10 strikeouts.
• Six Cougars currently have batting averages of .300 or higher. Caitlyn Canady, who will enter Saturday on an eight-game hitting streak, has a team-best 14 hits and boasts a .968 OPS.
