Lady Cougar, USC Aiken Soccer Match Postponed

CSU's next scheduled match is on Sunday, February 14 against Young Harris College.

COLUMBUS – Due to inclement weather in Aiken, S.C., the Columbus State University women's soccer team's scheduled season-opening match against USC Aiken for Sunday has been postponed. No make-up date has been announced at this time.

The Lady Cougars were slated to return to the field for the first time since November 2019 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the NCAA and Peach Belt Conference to make adjustments to the 2020-21 calendar. For the first time, the PBC will host a spring championship for soccer, with the tournament being held throughout early April at campus sites.

Columbus State is set to play 10 conference contests through February and March with exhibition matches against the University of Alabama (Feb. 19), the University of South Alabama (March 27) and Mississippi State University (April 1) within the schedule.

Led by head coach Jay Entlich, the CSU soccer program has won 12 PBC regular-season titles, eight PBC Tournament championships and captured six NCAA Regionals. The Lady Cougars are coming off a 13-7 record in 2019 and were picked second in the PBC preseason conference poll.

Columbus State's next scheduled match is on Sunday, Feb. 14 when Young Harris College travels to the Walden Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
