• The Cougars' bats were hot against Georgia College on Sunday as the team combined for four home runs, two doubles and one triple. Two of those homers came from second-year sophomore Morgan Elston, while Caitlyn Canady ripped a double and a triple.
• Lindsey Patton finished the day 4-for-5 with four RBIs, including jacking her first collegiate home run in game two. The true freshman's performance on Sunday boosted her batting average to .333 and she now has 10 RBIs on the season.
• Corbin continues to be a stipend at the plate and in the circle. Recently named as the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week, Corbin tossed a complete game, allowing just one hit in the 10-1 Cougar win over the Bobcats. The sophomore recorded 10 strikeouts, while not issuing any walks to pick up her fifth win of the season. Offensively, the second-year sophomore jacked a three-run homer in her first at bat and then was walked five times in the remainder of the doubleheader. The slugger leads the league, and ranks third among all NCAA DII players, with nine home runs, while also topping the PBC in walks (30) and runs (21). She is second in slugging percentage (1.093) and on-base percentage (.653).
• Canady's consistency at the plate has moved her to the leadoff spot in the Cougar lineup. The second-year freshman carries a 16-game hitting streak into Wednesday, including a 5-for-6 performance in the doubleheader on Sunday. She leads the PBC in hits (28) and triples (3).
• Columbus State ranks in the top-3 in multiple hitting categories within the conference, including topping all PBC teams in on-base percentage (.488). CSU ranks second in runs scored (123) and homers (23) and third in batting average (.321) and slugging percentage (.538).
• The Cougars leads the all-time series over West Georgia 48-7.
