• Hannah Rose Corbin tied a CSU record with 19 strikeouts in the opening game against West Georgia on Wednesday. She pitched a 4-0 shutout before coming on in the nightcap to punch out five more to save a 5-2 Cougar victory. Corbin's 24 strikeouts helped Columbus State move to first place in strikeouts within the PBC (143). The second-year sophomore is still present inside the top-10 in almost every hitting category within the conference.
• Caitlyn Canady went 3-for-4 with two doubles against the Wolves, extending her hitting streak to 18 games. The second-year freshman remains at the top of the conference in hits (32), tied for second with triples (3), fifth in batting average (.451) and fourth in runs scored (20).
• Katelyn Cooper was a combined 3-for-7 on Wednesday, including a double. Cooper ranks fourth in the PBC with a .462 batting average.
• Columbus State ranks in the top-5 in multiple hitting categories within the conference, including ranking second in runs scored (132), homers (24) and on-base percentage (.439), while sitting third in slugging percentage (.530), fourth in batting average (.317) and fifth in stolen bases (30).
• The Cougars are entering Saturday on a four-game winning streak.
