STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Columbus State University women's soccer team fell 4-0 to Mississippi State University in an exhibition match on Thursday. The match took place at the MSU Soccer Field.
Neither side had much going on the offensive end early besides an eighth-minute shot that CSU goalkeeper
Bria Riancho rejected to keep the match scoreless.
Mississippi State found the match's opening goal in the 30th minute from Madison Cotta.
CSU fired off two shots before the end of the half, including one by
Kimmy May that had to be saved.
After
Kimmy Edgeworth banged one of the crossbar in the 50th minute, the Bulldogs found goals in the 61st and 68th minute to pull ahead. MSU capped off the scoring in the 88th minute.
Columbus State tallied 11 shots compared to 13 by Mississippi State.

Columbus State will await to see its opponent for the semifinal round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The match will be played on April 6.
