COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University women's basketball team begins a three-game homestand on Wednesday, Jan. 26, hosting Georgia Southwestern University at 5:30 p.m. inside the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center. Fans are being encouraged to wear white for "White Out Night".
LAST TIME OUT
• With only seven available players due to COVID-19 protocols, the Lady Cougars fell 85-53 to No. 9 University of North Georgia on Saturday.
Imani Arnold led the team with 16 points, with
Jurnee Smith adding six points, eight rebounds and four assists.
CSU NOTES
• With her good play of late, Arnold is inching towards the top-10 in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring. Arnold is averaging 13.1 points this season and has scored at least 11 points in five straight games.
• CSU remains one of the most active teams on defense at the NCAA DII level, ranking second in steals per game (16.0) and fourth in turnover margin (9.56).
• The Lady Cougars will look to break out of a 3-point slump on Wednesday. CSU is just 8-for-46 (17.4% )over the past three games from deep.
SCOUTING GEORGIA SOUTHWESTERN
• Georgia Southwestern (14-3, 6-2 PBC) is having one of its best years in program history. The Hurricanes' only PBC losses this season have come against nationally-ranked North Georgia and Lander University.
• Ava Jones ranks seventh in the PBC in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game. Jones has scored in double-figures in three straight and posted a 33-point game against UNG on Jan. 5.
• GSW has the fifth-best scoring margin in the nation, outscoring their opponents by over 20 points per game in 2021-22.

• Columbus State has owned the all-time series, holding a 25-4 record against its in-state rival.
• GSW has found success of late though, winning back-to-back games against CSU for the first time ever.
