AMERICUS, Ga. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team scored 81 points in Saturday's game to lift them to victory over Newberry College. The win was played inside Storm Dome at the PBC/SAC Challenge hosted by Georgia Southwestern State University.
The Lady Cougars won each period of play in the noon contest, racing out to a 24-11 lead after the first period and never looking back. CSU was dominant on defense, limiting the Wolves to only score 55 points.
NOTES:
- Amber Abusbeih led the Lady Cougars with 14 points and shooting 58 percent (7-for-12) from the field.
- Zuzanna Rudenko and Emilia Tenbrock also scored in the double digits for CSU, Rudenko recording 11 and Tenbrock tallying 10 points.
- Maya Jackson marked seven rebounds, three being offensive and four being defensive.
- Rudenko and Letiya Reeves each shot 83 percent (5-for-6) from the free-throw line.
