INDIANAPOLIS - The Columbus State University Women's Soccer team claims the top seed in the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Southeast Regional. The Cougars will host the opening two rounds of the NCAA Championship this weekend at the Walden Soccer Complex, starting on Friday, Nov. 11 and finishing up on Sunday, Nov. 13.
CSU is right where they were a year ago hosting the opening weekend of soccer in the NCAA tournament as the top seed. The Cougars will be making their 15th NCAA appearance in program history.
Columbus State is well-deserving of the highest seed in the Southeast region after a record of 16-2-1 and being the Peach Belt Conference regular-season champions. The Cougars will take on their bitter conference rival, the University of North Georgia (14-4-3), on Friday at 3 p.m. The revenge seeking Nighthawks fell to the Cougars in the regular season 4-0 on CSU's last game of the regular season. Fourth-seeded Limestone and fifth-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne will be playing in the first game of the first round on Friday at noon. The winners of each match Friday will square off in the second round on Sunday at noon.Â
Admission for each day of tournament play will be as follows:
