COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University women's basketball team won their first Peach Belt Conference game of the 2022-23 season Thursday afternoon, defeating Lander University 76-64. The Lady Cougars improve to 6-3 (1-1 PBC), while the Lady Bearcats fall to 2-6, (0-1 PBC).
Columbus State had control the entire game versus Lander, outscoring the Lady Bearcats in three out of the four periods of play. Even with Lander scoring 28 points in the third, the Lady Cougars was able to hold the Lady Bearcats to ony scoring eight points in the second and 10 in the fourth.
NOTES:
- Letiya Reeves scored a game-high 22 points, shooting 10-for-18 from the field and 2-for-4 from the three-point line. The freshman also grabbed three rebounds, made two steals and blocked one shot.
- Emilia Tenbrock scored 14 points, grabbed seven rebounds and made a game-high seven steals. She was a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line.
- Simone Lett was powerful inside the paint, scoring 12 points (5-for-6 from the field) and tallying six rebounds.
- Olonna Rawls kept CSU in the defensive game, grabbing nine defensive rebounds (11 total) and recording two steals
- Maya Jackson and Rawls each tallied nine points, while Amber Abusbeih scored eight.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Sunday, Dec. 18 at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. in Huntsville, Ala.
