HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team finishes the 2022 year with a 78-61 victory over the University of Alabama-Huntsville Sunday afternoon. The Lady Cougars improve to 7-3 (1-1 PBC) and the Lady Chargers fall to 3-9 (3-5 GSC).
Columbus State started the game hot, leading Alabama-Huntsville 20-12 after the first 10 minutes of play. CSU didn't look back either, outscoring UAH in each period.
Amber Abusbeih had an unbelievable game for the Lady Cougars, scoring a season-high 25 points. The sophomore shot 53 percent (10-for-19) from the field, 44 percent (4-for-9) from the three-point line and was 1-for-2 in free-throws. She also grabbed four rebounds and made four steals.
NOTES:
- Olonna Rawls scored 15 points, going 5-for-8 from the field and 2-for-3 from behind the arc. She also added four rebounds and four steals.
- Letiya Reeves tallied 13 points and eight rebounds, while also shooting 100 percent (2-for-2) from the free-throw line.
- Zuzanna Rudenko scored nine points, made four steals and also shot 100 percent (3-for-3) from the free-throw line.
- UAH and CSU both shot 42 percent from the field, but the Lady Chargers did not make one three-pointer while the Lady Cougars made eight.
- UAH did outshoot CSU in foul shots, shooting 70.8 percent while CSU shot 60.9 percent.
