COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University softball team will host the annual Cougar Classic at Cougar Field on the campus of Columbus State University from Friday, Feb. 11 through Sunday, Feb. 13. The Cougars will play four games over the three-day tournament, while 10 games in all will take place at Cougar Field. 

The Cougars will play two games on Friday (1:15 & 5:45 p.m.) and one apiece on Saturday (5:45 p.m.) and Sunday (1:15 p.m.)

Cougar Notes

• The Cougars began the season 1-3 at the Gulf Shores Invitational last weekend. CSU's lone win was a 6-5 decision over Mississippi College.
• Hannah Rose Corbin was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday after recording six hits, two grand slams and 11 RBIs during opening weekend. It's the third Player of the Week award in her career.
• Haylee Folds was a standout in the circle last weekend, posting a 0.60 ERA in 11.2 innings of work. She struck out 15 batters in her two appearances.

Coker Notes

• Coker is 1-3 after dropping two games to Augusta University and splitting with North Greenville.
• Delaney Eaves is a threat in the lineup as the freshman is currently hitting .429 with a homer, a double and two RBIs. Eaves also has an .556 on base percentage.
• Callie Thornton has thrown the most innings on the staff, tossing 11 innings with nine strikeouts.

Converse Notes

• Converse is 0-4 after dropping two doubleheaders against Limestone and UVA Wise.
• At the plate, Brooklyn McElrath and Faith Hauser both hold .300 averages with three hits and an RBI each. McElrath has one double.
• Inside the circle, Daija Irizarry sports a 1.91 ERA in 3.2 innings. Reagan Owens records 11 strikeouts in three games.

Montevallo Notes

• Montevallo is 2-2, beating Drury University and Palm Beach Atlantic University. UM dropped games against Rollins College and Lubbock Christian University (Texas).
• Alisha Lanyon posts a .333 batting average and a .444 slugging percentage. Sydnee Pawlak, Lauren Hamby and Sierra Easterwood all have three RBIs.
• Mychael McMilian a 1.62 ERA in 8.2 innings of work with nine strikeouts. Marby Norris is right behind her with a 2.17 ERA in 9.2 innings pitched.

Bulldog Notes

• Union is 1-3 with their only win of the season being against Palm Beach Atlantic on Feb. 6.
• At the plate, Grace White posts a .429 batting average with a .556 on-base percentage.
• In 3.1 IP, Olivia Baker hasn't allowed an earned run. Laken DiStefano holds a 2.1 ERA in 6.2 IP with three strikeouts.
