COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University men's basketball team will head on the road on Saturday, traveling to Morrow, Ga. to take on Peach Belt Conference foe Clayton State. Tipoff is at 5 p.m. at the The Loch and Mason Barfield Court.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Cougars had one of their best offensive nights of the year on Wednesday in a 90-75 victory over Young Harris College in Columbus. CSU held a 42-29 halftime lead after closing the half on a 15-6 run.
Hunter Preston had a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double, while
Grant Howard added a season-high 22 points.
COUGAR NOTES
• With only five games left in the regular season, Columbus State (16-7, 7-6) is currently in fifth in the PBC standings. CSU is two games back from both Georgia College (17-5, 9-4) and USC Aiken (15-8, 9-4) and will take on both teams on the road during the final week of the year
• The 90 points by the Cougars against YHC on Wednesday were the most by CSU in a PBC game this season. It was just the second 90-plus point game for Columbus State this season
• CSU is 15-0 in 2021-22 when shooting at least 39.4%

SCOUTING CLAYTON STATE
• Clayton State (7-16, 2-11 PBC) will try to snap a two-game losing skid on Saturday after falling 83-65 on the road at the University of North Georgia on WednesdayÂ
• The Lakers are 1-12 since Dec. 15, with their lone winning coming against Young Harris on Feb. 5 in Morrow
• Jalen Shaw, who scored 17 points against Columbus State in the team's first meeting, leads Clayton State in scoring (14.7 ppg) and rebounding (8.5 rebs/g). He paces all of the league in rebounding and shoots a PBC-best 61.7% (124-for-201)
• Clayton State is second-to-last in the PBC in defensive scoring average, allowing 78.0 points per game. The Cougars scored 85 in their win against the Lakers back on Jan. 8 in Columbus
• Clayton State has committed at least 10 turnovers in four straight games and in seven of the previous eight. The Lakers averaged 14.5 per game in 2021-22
SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday will be the 54th all-time meeting between Columbus State and Clayton State. The Cougars led the series 34-19, including a 19-8 mark in Morrow
