COLUMBUS - The No. 2 Columbus State University men's tennis team grabbed its second ranked win in as many days as the Cougars took down No. 25 University of West Alabama 6-1 on Saturday. The non-conference match took place at the Walden Tennis Center.

Like they have done all year so far, the Cougars (4-0) won all three doubles matches to set the tone for the day. Both first and second doubles won 6-2, while Javier Cueto Ramos and Felix Steen had to work a little tougher in a 6-4 win at the third spot.

Columbus State continued to play well in singles to grab its 37th straight regular-season win. Top-ranked Alvaro Regalado continued his great start to the season with a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles over Marcel Hornung, while No. 8 Cueto Ramos grabbed a 7-5, 6-3 win in the second position. Tommaso Schold (6-2, 6-2) Garay (6-1, 6-2) and No. 36 Pietro Martinetti (6-2, 7-5) were also all straight-set winners for the Cougars.

UWA's (1-1) lone win came at sixth singles, where Loic Danze defeated Justin Welz 6-4, 6-3

UP NEXT
The Cougars will now prep to defend their ITA National Indoor Championship titles in Indaianpilols on Feb. 18 through Feb. 20. CSU is the only Division II team to capture the indoor championship, winning the first two editions of the event in 2020 and 2021 in Oklahoma City.
