COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University men's basketball team will look to bounce back from a tough loss on Wednesday when the Cougars take on Georgia Southwestern University in Americus, Ga. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. in the Storm Dome.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Cougars (16-8, 7-7 PBC) were down by double-digits with less than six minutes to go at Clayton State University before hitting on the gas to set up a go-ahead opportunity in the closing seconds. However, a turnover allowed the Lakers to escape with a 69-67 victory.
COUGAR NOTES
• The Cougars remain a game ahead of the University of North Georgia for the fifth spot in the PBC standings. CSU and UNG will play in Columbus on Saturday
• CSU has lost back-to-back road games for the first time this season. The Cougars are 6-5 on the road and 2-4 in PBC play
• The Cougars have shot above 30% from 3-point range just twice away from the Lumpkin Center in conference play. CSU shot a season-low 15.8% on Saturday in Morrow

Langston Gaither has made 10 or more free throws in three games this season, including going 11-for-12 against Clayton State on Saturday. Gaither's 19-for-20 performance against the Lakers in Columbus on Jan. 8 is still tied for the second-most free throws in a game this season in the nation (DII level)
• The Cougars lead the PBC in offensive rebounds per game (12.6) despite having an even rebounding margin for the season.
GEORGIA SOUTHWESTERN NOTES
• Georgia Southwestern (9-14, 5-10 PBC) will look to snap a three-game losing streak on Wednesday. GSW has lost back-to-back games by a single possession (vs. Flagler & at Georgia College)
• The Hurricanes are fighting for a berth into the PBC Tournament. GSW is outside looking in at the moment, trailing Lander University by a half-game for the eighth and final spot. The tournament begins on March 1
• GSW scored a season-low 50 points on Saturday and hasn't broken the 70-point mark in any of its last five games
• Jarrett Adderton (14.4 ppg, 4.6 rebs/g) is one of the best freshmen in the PBC and is a player to watch for GSW. Donte Tatum (14.3 ppg) and Devon Higgs (8.2 ppg, 7.3 rebs/g) are also scoring threats
• The Hurricanes average 15.3 turnovers per game, the second-highest mark in the conference
SERIES HISTORY
• Georgia Southwestern snapped a five-game losing streak against the Cougars after a 70-67 overtime win in Columbus on Jan. 26. GSW had to rally to win, ending regulation on an 18-6 run before finishing off CSU in OT
• CSU holds a slim 16-14 margin over GSW since GSW joined the NCAA ranks during the 2006-07 season
