BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Columbus State University men's and women's track and field teams had outstanding performances at the Samford Bulldog Open on February 12.
The Cougars had a strong showing as there were six top-10 finishes.
Senior Javian Williams earned third place in the final round of the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.79 seconds.
Jackson Fulks was also impressive throughout the day, finishing seventh in the men's long jump, jumping 6.79-meters.
Freshman Gary Grimes had a great day for the Cougars where he made it to the semi-finals in the 60-meter dash, placing 16th with a time of 8.75 seconds.
On the women's side, freshman Cyan Green had two top-20 finishes for Columbus State in the women's weight throw and the women's shot put. In the shot put, she threw a distance of 12.44mm to give her 11th place, and in the weight throw, she recorded a throw of 13.86 mm to place her in 18th.
The men's and women's track and field teams will compete in the Victor Ice Breaker Dual on March 5 in Rome, Ga. hosted by Berry College.
