MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Columbus State University men's track and field team captured the team title at the Falcon Invite on Saturday behind impressive performances. 

The women's team finished fourth at the shortened event due to weather.

The Cougars won five events on Saturday, including Gavin Nembhard setting the school record in the triple jump (14.98 meters). Nembhard also hit the NCAA provisional mark with the jump.

Savian Taylor also posted an NCAA provisional time in the 800-meter dash (1:51.10), breaking the Montevallo Invite record. 

Other winners included Dante Walls in the 400-meter hurdles (56.33), Ryan Conn in the pole vault (4.28 meters) and the Cougar 4x100-meter relay team of Jailen Dalton, Roosevelt Trammell, Jackson Fulks and Colin French (41.42).

Tereil Mitchum had three top-five finishes (shot put, hammer, discus). 

School records also fell on the women's side with Kailyn Thomas setting a new mark in the hammer throw (42.67 meters). She finished third in the event. Cyan Green was a winner on Saturday for the Lady Cougars with a 12.64-meter toss in the shot put. Green was back at it in the discus (40.67 meters), setting a UM Invite record to grab another first-place performance.

Tieria Malone finished atop of the podium in the triple jump (10.32 meters) for the Lady Cougars. 

The CSU men's team won the event by 14 points over the hosts, while the women's portion of the event was won by Montevallo.
