COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University softball team hits the road this weekend for a key three-game Peach Belt Conference series against Lander University in Greenwood, S.C.

CSU NOTES
• The Cougars closed a 4-1 homestand on Wednesday by splitting a doubleheader against 16th-ranked West Florida. CSU took game one 1-0 behind a complete game shutout by Hannah Rose Corbin, while UWF took a 12-8 slugfest in game two
• CSU enters the weekend tied with Georgia Southwestern University for second in the PBC standings. Both teams are 7-2 inside conference play, 1.5 games back from 13th-ranked North Georgia (10-2). UNG and GSW battle each other this weekend in Americus, Ga.\
• Caitlyn Canady has five multi-hit games during her nine-game hitting streak. Overall, she leads the team with 12 multi-hit games and is fifth in the PBC with 39 hitsÂ
• Corbin was named to the Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year awards watch list on Wednesday for the second consecutive season. The award honors the best Pitcher and Player at the DII levelÂ
• Morgan Elston is one of just two players in the PBC with 10 or more homers. She is tied for 13th in DII with 10 homers and inside the top-50 with 47 RBIs\
• Corbin has allowed just one earned run over her last 18 innings. She is 13-5 inside the circle with a 2.60 ERA
• CSU is 4-5 on the road in 2022 and just 5-8 away from Columbus (including road games)
LANDER NOTES
• The Bearcats have racked up the wins so far in 2022, posting a 26-6 record entering the weekend. LU is 8-4 in PBC play
• Lander is a half-game back of the Cougars and Hurricanes for second in the PBC standings
• The Bearcats went 10-4 in March and haven't played since taking 2-of-3 from Flagler College last weekend in St. Augustine, Fla.Â
• LU hasn't won a game at home since March 7Â
• Lander plays small ball, ranking fourth in DII in sacrifice bunts (40). The Bearcats are also third in double play turned with 19
• A trio of pitchers have tossed at least 50 innings for the Bearcats. Reagan More sports a 1.06 ERA, the 18th best mark in DII, in 53 innings, while Rebecca Boesen leads the team in innings pitched (80) and is tied for the team lead in wins (8)
• Abbie Behe leads the PBC with a .434 average and is the 14th hardest hitter to strike out in DII. Shannon Antonini has a team-high 33 RBIs and is hitting .423 on the season
• The Bearcats are second in the PBC in stolen bases (70)

• The Cougars lead the all-time series 51-17 over the Bearcats, including a 29-14 mark in Greenwood
• CSU swept a doubleheader last year in Greenwood and has won seven of the last 10 matchups
