CARROLLTON, Ga. - The Columbus State University track & field programs produced four first-place performances on Saturday at the University of West Georgia Legends Invitational.
The Cougars also finished high atop the team rankings, coming in second with 132 points. CSU was one of only two teams with 100 or more points. The Lady Cougars were sixth with 60.50 points.
The field athletes shined on Saturday, with the CSU men winning the pole vault and javelin. Columbus State had the first six finishers in the pole vault, with William Player (4.40m), Alexander Kendall (4.25m) and Ryan Conn (4.10m) finishing first, second and third. Matthew Pfledderer (42.73m) won the javelin, while teammates Kendall (42.03m) and Tyreik Warren (37.73) were in second and third.
In the track portion, the Cougar 4x100-meter relay team won the event in impressive style. Dante Walls, Roosevelt Trammell, Jackson Fulks and Colin French broke the tape in 41.51, nearly .7 seconds ahead of the competion.Â
On the women's side, Imani Arnold captured her first win of the year in the 800-meter run. The two-sport star ran a 2:18.21.Â
Cyan Green was the runner-up in the discus (41.78m), while Tieria Malone came in third in the triple jump (10.35m)

The teams are in action next week at the Flames Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn.
