No. 3 Women's Soccer returns home for non-conference match with LMU

The Cougars have won seven straight matches against non-conference opponents at home.

COLUMBUS, Ga. - The No. 3 Columbus State University women's soccer team returns home on Wednesday to host Lincoln Memorial University for a non-conference match. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.

ABOUT CSU
• The Cougars (5-1-1) return home after a perfect two-game road trip last week. CSU grabbed conference wins at Clayton State University (7-0) and Lander University (2-0).
• CSU moved up one spot to third in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll released Tuesday. Dallas Baptist University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University hold the first and second positions in the rankings.
• Lizzie Hedrick was named the Peach Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday. The Columbus native is 20th at the DII level in save percentage (.900) and is second in the PBC in goals-against average.
• Emma Beddow has recorded a point in four straight games and six of the seven matches in 2022. The sophomore leads the PBC and is 16th in the nation with six goals. 
• CSU is on a four-match unbeaten streak.
• Columbus State is 12-2-1 at home since 2020 and is on a seven-match winning streak against non-conference opponents. 

LMU NOTES
• Lincoln Memorial enters Columbus struggling with a 1-5-0 record. 
• The Railsplitters are on a three-match losing streak after collecting their lone win of the year against Milligan University on Sept. 3.
• Corrine Denton leads the team with five points (2 G, 1 A), while Jordan Hellman has found the back of the net twice.
• Bente Latenstein (1.86 GAA) has started five of the six matches in goal for LMU.

SERIES HISTORY
• The Cougars lead the all-time series 6-1-0 over Lincoln Memorial, including picking up a 3-0 win last season in Harrogate, Tenn.
• CSU has won six straight in the series.
• LMU is making its first trip to Columbus since 2011.
