COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University women's basketball team lost a thrilling 80-78 game to Peach Belt Conference rival Young Harris College Wednesday night inside the Frank G. Lumpkin, Jr. Center. The Lady Cougars fall to 8-5 (2-3 PBC), while the Mountain Lions improve to 6-7 (2-3 PBC).
After trailing 5-0 within the first few minutes of play, the Lady Cougars were able to rally and take a 25-20 lead after the first quarter. Columbus State maintained the lead after the second, entering the half up 41-37.
It was the second half where things changed. The Mountain Lions came out of the locker room with offensive energy, outscoring CSU 21-10 in the third quarter, taking a 58-51 lead over the Lady Cougars. CSU didn't give up, however, as the team outscored YHC 27-22 in the fourth, but it wasn't enough to secure the win.
NOTES:
- Emilia Tenbrock scored a game-high 29 points, draining four 3-pointers and shooting a perfect 100 percent (3-for-3) from the free-throw line.
- Olonna Rawls tallied 21 points and also shot 100 percent (5-for-5) from the charity line.
- Amber Abusbeih recorded a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. She also tallied eight assists.
- Simone Lett added seven points and Letiya Reeves had six.
- The Lady Cougars shot 68.8 percent (11-for-16) from the free-throw line.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action inside the Lumpkin Center on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m. against PBC opponent Augusta University.
