GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Columbus State University men's basketball team suffers third loss in a row, 86-51, at Lander Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars move to 9-8 overall and 2-5 in PBC play. Lander wins their third game in a row to improve to 13-4 and 5-2 in Peach Belt Conference action.
The Cougars started the game off with a 4-0 run but that would be the only lead CSU would see in this game before Lander turned on the heat. The Bearcats lead the Peach Belt Conference in three-pointers made and they showed why. LU shot 33 total three-pointers and made 16 of them. They finished shooting 52 percent from the floor for the game. Shooting the lights out would be an understatement as there was no stopping the Bearcats on offense.Â
Demierre Black led the Cougars in scoring with 12 points and shot 50 percent from the field. Columbus State had a great night from the free-throw line cashing in on 17 out of 22 attempts.
Jehloni James set a career high at CSU with seven rebounds and three steals.Â

Columbus State will look to get back into the win column with some home-court cooking on Saturday, Jan. 21 as they take on the Nighthawks of North Georgia. The Nighthawks are flying high at 12-2 and currently riding a two game win streak.
