AMERICUS, Ga. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team dropped to 2-2 after falling to No. 25 Carson-Newman University 77-59 in the final game of the GSW Classic on Saturday. 
The Lady Cougars struggled to get ahead offensively, falling to a quick 16-point deficit in the first quarter. Carson-Newman led 49-29 going into halftime. Columbus State gained some fire from the locker rooms and outshot the Eagles 22-14 in the third. Both offenses had a low-scoring 4th quarter, with the Lady Cougars coming up short in the end. CNU shot 53% from the field as a team, compared to CSU's 30%. 
Three Lady Cougars shot in double digits, with senior 
Olonna Rawls leading the offense with 19 points and 7 rebounds. She also contributed to 3 of the team's 6 from behind the arc. Senior point guard 
Amber Abusbeih scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds for the Lady Cougars. 
Letiya Reeves was the third Lady Cougar to score in double figures while also playing solid defense. The sophomore recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 4 steals.
