AIKEN, S.C. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team dominated Peach Belt Conference opponent USC Aiken 90-80 Wednesday night inside the Convocation Center in Aiken, S.C. The Lady Cougars advance to 12-7 (6-5 PBC) and the Pacers fall to 12-9 (6-5 PBC).
Columbus State had a tough start to the game, trailing 23-15 after the first period of play, but the Lady Cougars found a spark in the second, outscoring Aiken 26-9 and taking a 41-32 lead.Â
The Pacers made the game interesting, tying the game at 70 with just under six minutes left in the game. However, with eight key, made free-throws from
Amber Abusbeih, CSU was able to stretch a 10-point lead and secure the road conference victory.
NOTES:
- Abusbeih led CSU with 23 points, shooting 78.5 percent (11-for-14) from the free-throw line, while also posting seven assists and four rebounds.
- Emilia Tenbrock and Olonna Rawls each scored 22 points and made three steals.
- Rawls recorded a double-double (22 points, 10 rebounds) and shot 72.7 percent (8-for-11) from the field, 66 percent (2-for-3) from three-point range and 80 percent (4-for-5) from the charity line.
- Letiya Reeves tallied 10 points and six rebounds.
- CSU was 80 percent (20-for-25) in free-throws.
