MORROW, Ga. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team fell to Peach Belt Conference contender Clayton State University 82-62 Saturday afternoon in The Loch arena in Morrow, Ga. The Lady Cougars drop to 14-8 (8-6 PBC) and the Lakers improve to 13-10 (8-6 PBC).
Clayton State set the tone of the game in the first quarter by outscoring Columbus State 27-12. Even though the Lady Cougars outscored the Lakers 16-14 in the second quarter, it wasn't enough to eliminate Clayton's lead.
NOTES:
- Emilia Tenbrock led the Lady Cougars with 22 points and added five rebounds
- Letiya Reeves tallied 12 points, five rebounds and three steals
- Simone Lett scored 13 points
- The Lady Cougars shot 37.3 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from three-point range and 59.1 percent from the free-throw line
