COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University women's basketball suffered a close 61-69 loss to the Peach Belt Conference's top-ranked team, Georgia Southwestern, Wednesday night inside the Frank G. Lumpkin, Jr. Center. The Lady Cougars fall to 14-9 (8-7 PBC) while the Hurricanes improve to 20-4 (12-3 PBC).
Georgia Southwestern had control through most of the game, but Columbus State never gave up. Trailing by 15 points going into the final quarter of play, the Lady Cougars fought back with intensity, outscoring the Hurricanes 23-16. With just 55 seconds remaining, CSU came within six points against the Canes, but GSW powered through to win by nine.

- Olonna Rawls recorded a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing a season-high 15 rebounds
- Amber Abusbeih led the Lady Cougars offense with 21 pointsÂ
- Olivia West tallied 12 pointsÂ
- Letiya Reeves posted seven points and five rebounds
- CSU shot 15.4 percent from the three-point line and 28.4 percent from the field
