COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University softball team beat the University of Montevallo and Tuskegee University on Monday, Feb. 13 to sweep CSU's annual Red-White-Blue Classic. The Cougars are now on a three-game win streak and are 3-0 on the new season.

GAME 1: CSU 9, UM 5 

• Hannah Rose Corbin earned her second win of the season inside the circle against Montevallo, striking 12 batters out. Corbin was also fierce at the plate, going 2-for-2 with four RBIs, a three-run home run and an RBI double to lead the Cougars
• Caitlyn Canady went 3-for-4 against the Falcons with three runs scored
• Four Cougars hit doubles: Madeline Parker, Corbin, Elyse Ambrose, Kenzie Bayer
• Mary-Catherine Sorrell and Kristen Odum each tallied a stolen base
• Ambrose, Bayer and Grace Kiser each posted one RBI
• Columbus State recorded 11 hits as a team

GAME 2: CSU 13, TU 5

• After relieving starting pitcher Jessica Lopez, Haylee Folds earned the win on the mound, allowing four hits and two runs scored
• Corbin went 2-for-2 with two home runs, four runs scored, two RBIs and walked twice
• Ambrose and Laura Harris both went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, and collected three RBIs and two runs scored a piece
• Katelyn Cooper came up clutch for the Cougars, going 2-for-2 including a pinch-hit, two-run double and walking the game off in the bottom of the sixth inning with another RBI double to force the run-rule. She ended the game with three RBIs
• Madeline Parker also hit a double and tallied an RBI, and Sorrell walked and scored three times
• CSU posted 12 hits 

UP NEXT:
The Cougars will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 17 as the team goes on a road trip to play UVA Wise at 1 p.m.
