AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Columbus State University softball team defeated Peach Belt Conference opponent Augusta University 3-0 at Jaguar Field on Saturday, March 18. With the win, CSU head coach
Brad Huskisson earned his 600th NCAA career win as the Cougars improve to 16-9 (5-2 PBC). The Jaguars are now 13-15 (0-10 PBC).
Senior
Hannah Rose Corbin received her eighth victory inside the circle after striking out 10 Jaguar batters and only allowing four hits and four walks. At the plate, she went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks and one run scored.Â
Columbus State scored all three runs in the top of the fifth inning, starting with a solo home run from junior
Caitlyn Canady. After loading the bases with three walks,
Brooke Miller grabbed an RBI with a walk, allowing
Madeline Parker to score. A pitching change by Augusta happened, but the same result occurred with another RBI walk from
Lindsey Patton, plating Corbin.
CSU tallied three hits and nine walks as a team.
