CARROLLTON, Ga. - The Columbus State University softball team is set for a nonconference doubleheader against the University of West Georgia on Wednesday, March 29 in Carrollton, Ga. The first game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and the second will follow at 5:30 p.m.

History:

• The Cougars lead the Wolves 4-0 since 2012, with the latest matchup being on March 24, 2021 at Cougar Field when CSU swept the Wolves 4-0 and 5-2.
• Hannah Rose Corbin tied the record for most strikeouts in a game with 19 in game one, shutting out UWG 4-0 before coming on in the nightcap to punch out five more to save a 5-2 Cougar victory. 
• Caitlyn Canady went 3-for-4 in the second game with one RBI and two runs scored.

About the Cougars:

• CSU is on a five-game winning streak after sweeping USC Aiken and taking two from Miles College all at Cougar Field.
• Kenzie Bayer is staying hot for the Cougars, going 8-for-12 in the last five games with three home runs, one double and 11 RBIs.
• Hannah Rose Corbin struck out 30 batters in her last four appearances, including striking out 13 against West Alabama and 10 vs. Aiken. She now totals 122 strikeouts on the 2023 season.
